Here’s the thing about trends, whether they’re related to interior design or otherwise, they do not exist in a vacuum. If you look around at other areas of visual design – art, fashion, or beauty tends, for example – you will see that they all tend to share common threads in terms of what styles are popular.
Those who have been around for a few decades will start to notice that styles from their childhood are suddenly here once again, though often interpreted with a fresh and modern twist. Right now, the groovy seventies are back in fashion design collections and interiors.
Metallic tones
When it comes to colours and accents, the most significant trend is the revival of metallic tones such as gold, bronze and copper. This sometimes gives an industrial touch but usually these accents are processed very carefully so that the whole interior gets a rather luxurious appearance.
You can use these tones whenever you decide– spread them on walls, furniture and even on tiny accents around your house.
Geometrics
The good news is, as far as geometric designs are concerned, you can pretty much fit them into whichever features of the room your heart desires.
The common applications are wall decor and accent elements. Think patterned throw pillows or blankets for your couch. Or a patterned shades to adorn your table lamps. If you love wall art, consider choosing pieces that feature a geometric look.
The current trend is spreading the use of geometrics in 3 dimensional items around the home. They can be found on accents such as lighting, plant arrangements or wall art.
Many pieces of modern furniture beautifully adopt the geometric trend as well.
If you choose to follow the trend, we hope that here you can find some good inspiration for revamping your home.
